Breaking Bad left us anticipating a new relationship with Jesse, Mike and Gus. We were left hanging on the injuries and the fallout from last week's dramatic climax only to have the show veer completely over and lead us right back to Walt and how Walt's vision was spot-on regarding Gus's intentions all along. All along it was Gus's intention to separate Jesse from Walt and turn Jesse against him. To rid himself, as he intended last season, of a very unstable and desperate cancer patient.
It turns out however, that Jesse is still loyal to Walt, and Gus angrily threatens Walt and his entire family, Brother in law Hank and baby infant included. He fired Walt and let Walt know that Jesse was taking over his meth lab. Walt realized that it was only a matter of time (due to a confrontation with Jesse just hours before) before Jesse would relinquish his loyalty and allow Walt to be snuffed out. Walt desperately tries to use Saul's out option, and convinces Saul to warn Hank about Gus's intentions. But he then finds out that the money needed for him and his family escape was not in the crawlspace he was digging in, but given to his wife's ex-boss Ted by Skyler. He then loses it totally and laughs insanely, hysterically, as though all sanity had left him, and he goes silent in the midst of a phone call whereby it is revealed that Saul had warned the DEA at Walt's bequest.
There are so many twists and turns it isn't funny. It's plain out genius. One thing is for sure for the final two weeks. Walt and Jesse will team up and Hector Salamanca will be deeply involved in the conflict between them and Gus. Stay tuned.
