There are alot of exciting plays in baseball. From the triple play to the inside the park home run, there's excitement to be seen in the game of baseball. Some of the most exciting plays in baseball are the rarest. Like I mentioned above, the triple play and inside the park home run are very rare plays. They happen only a few times a season on average. The reason they are rare is because they require unique situations. An inside the park home run usually requires both a speedy hitter and the ball being hit at a particular angles and speeds. The ball has to be hit at just the right speed to pass the outfielders and/or hit hard and take an elusive bounce off the wall to elude the fielder, allowing time for the hitter to make it around the bases.
A triple play requires circumstantiality so-to-speak. It can occur in alot of unlikely scenarios such as a ball being hit hard and caught in the air and the fielder catching both runners off base before they can get back. It can occur in a series of rundowns after a grounder to the right spot in the infield. It can occur with baserunners, one by one, attempting to advance after a fly-out and a whole host of unusual and rare scenarios. The basic scenario that a triple play can occur is with runners on first and second base. A hard hit ground ball by a slow hitter can be fielded close to third base by the third baseman where he'll tag the third base bag (forcing out the runner at second base), throw the ball quickly to second base for another force, and the player covering second throwing quickly over to first to nail the third and final, and usually, very slow batter.
Another rare but exciting baseball play is the squeeze play. This is a strategic play called for by the manager whereby the runner at third base commits himself to home. That's, run towards homeplate on the pitch depending on the batter to make a successful bunt. This play often brings swift, unexpected and heart pounding thrills to the baseball fan, depending on the success or failure of the play. The squeeze play is one of the guttiest plays in the game of baseball.
