Punxsutawney Phil, the infamous weather forecasting groundhog of reknown, has gone one further. Predicting future world series champs.
Although the mass media will hide this fact on Groundhog day this Feburary 2, a source close to the groundhoggian species has leaked information regarding other predictions, predictions related to annual sporting events. According to a source named Furry, better known as the "Squealing Squirrel", Punxsutawney Phil has successfully forecasted the last 3 world series champions.
"It is clearly known that a red cardinal swooped down at last years groundhog festivities, and Phil chuckled gnawingly in an almost gesture-like pose, and then nodded as though to say, the Cards will take it this year", Furry said. That's all I need as proof. I'm gonna watch closely at the gesturings and animated maneuvers of Punxsutawney Phil next Friday, Groundhog day to see if I see any gestures towards a person wearing red socks, or a guy wearing a pinstriped shirt or tie. Or maybe even read his lips to see as to what he's trying to say. Maybe Phil's lips will read Metsies, Metsies. Lol.
