"Mets Baseball Memories"

Ode To The 73 Mets

I remember it all,
from spring to fall,
the Mets big three pitchers were,
Seaver, Matlack and Koosman sir,
they could really pitch the ball,
while closing it out was Tug McGraw,
but thats not all, there was more,
such as the Say Hey kid whom fans adored,
but also there was Felix Millan,
who could field and hit and run,
and don't forget,
the important duet,
Cleon Jones and Rusty Staub,
to whom many wouldbe hits were robbed,
they could both field and hit,
and yes Harrelson could really use that mitt,
while John Milner was covering firstbase,
and Wayne Garret monitored that 3rd base place,
behind home plate was a solid catcher,
try and steal a base and Grote would getcha,
and manager Yogi Berra was smarter than,
the average Berra my dear friend,
okay okay I get your point,
my poetic talent is missing a joint,
but it was fun to reminisce,
about those long lost days I miss,
and I'll always be thankful for,
the memories the Met's gave me and more,
they gave me a childhood of baseball fun,
and to me the Mets will always be number one.

Hey that was a great poem! I don't remember reading a basebal poem like that before. There was that one basball poem about might casey which I remember. Well I really don't remember it too well.

Maybe you can put it on your page for me. It will refresh my memory. I know might casey struckout, but I don't remember much else of the story, or whether it was true or not.

Baseball is my favorite sport. I love the Padres, and am hoping that Mike Pizza can help them this baseball seaons.

Anyhow, that was a great baseball poem. You really are a true Mets fan. I respect that.

Thanks HM.

The casey story was just posted for you. I found it on gooogle and wanted to share it with you and others that may find it here on my baseball blog site.

The pitchers and catchers report to spring training as the baseball season nears us. Just two more weeks and baseball is upon us.

Oh, and I must correct your spelling of Mike Pizza. It's not Mike Pizza. It's PIAZZA. But it still makes you want to order a pizza when you see his name. LOL

I think Mike Piazza has something left in his tank. We'll see this season.

But one thing is for sure, He can't catch worth a hoot. Maybe they can put him at firstbase.

Yep. I will always be a Mets fan. It's just that magic when you are young, and a team appeals to you. You are hooked for life.

Mets baseballtickets are hard to come by, at least in terms of getting good seats. So I just watch on tv and check out espn every night to see the rest of league. Mainly because of fantasy baseball leagues.

Fantasy baseball is different every year. One year it's the pitching that seems to determine who wins a fantasy baseball league, another year it's basestealers, another year it's sluggerss, and so-on.

Each baseball season brings in a different dominance in terms of fantasy scoring.

I think this will be the year of the pitcher.
